Alameda, CA – September 18, 2006 – Linick Consulting announced today that Jody Linick has passed the American Institute of Professional Bookkeeper’s certification exam, and is now a Certified Bookkeeper (CB).

To obtain a CB, Ms. Linick has met the following requirements:

1. Experience: At least 2 years' full-time bookkeeping experience.
2. Examination: Candidates must pass a 4-part national examination.
3. Code of Ethics: Applicants must sign a Code of Ethics.

To pass the national exam, applicants must pass exams in the following subjects:

• Adjusting entries
• Error correction
• Payroll
• Depreciation
• Inventory
• Internal controls and fraud prevention

According to published AIPB materials, "in 1998 the AIPB set the first and only national standard in advanced bookkeeping, The Certified Bookkeeper program.

A Certified Bookkeeper has the proven ability to handle the books for a company of up to 100 employees.

To become certified, a bookkeeper must:

1. Know basic bookkeeping, including double-entry accounting, before undertaking certification;
2. pass a national exam in advanced bookkeeping;
3. have at least 3,000 hours (2-years) of on-the-job experience in bookkeeping;
4. sign a Code of Ethics that ensures a commitment to integrity;
5. constantly update skills by earning 20 Continuing Education Credits every year."
